Kotak Amal Masjid sebagai Instrumen Filantrofi Ekonomi dan Dakwah Sosial
Abstract
This article discusses the role of mosque charity boxes as instruments of economic philanthropy and social da’wah in the Muslim community. Charity boxes in mosques not only function as a means to collect funds for worship, but also as tools for the economic empowerment of the ummah. With proper management, the funds collected through charity boxes can be used to finance various social programs, such as education, healthcare, assistance for the poor, and the development of public facilities. In addition, charity boxes can also support the economic empowerment of the ummah through business capital assistance and skills training. However, challenges in managing charity boxes, such as lack of transparency, community education, and efficient fund management, remain key obstacles to their optimization. Therefore, to enhance the effectiveness of charity boxes as social and economic instruments, transparent management, broader education, and more professional fund management systems are required. This article demonstrates that mosque charity boxes can function as an effective tool for the empowerment of the ummah if these challenges can be addressed.
