PELATIHAN PUBLIC SPEAKING BASIC PADA SISWA KELAS V - VIDI SDN TAGANGSER DAYA 1 DAN 2 PASEAN PAMEKASAN

Abstract

Public speaking is a 21st-century skill that should be instilled from an early age. However, many elementary school students, especially in rural areas, have not received formal training or habituation to develop this skill. This study aims to improve self-confidence and public speaking abilities among 5th and 6th-grade students through a basic public speaking training program. The research was conducted by the KKN team of STIDKI Al-Hamidy Pamekasan using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, involving students, teachers, and university facilitators as active participants. The training was carried out at SDN Tagangser Daya 1 and 2, Pasean District, Pamekasan Regency, during the community service program from August to October 2025. The process followed several stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through participatory observation, interviews, documentation, and group reflection. The data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative methods. Hasilnya menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan dalam kepercayaan diri siswa, intonasi suara, kontak mata, dan penyampaian pidato yang terstruktur. Dari 39 peserta, lebih dari 70% menunjukkan kemajuan yang nyata setelah pelatihan. Guru merespons positif dan mendorong pelaksanaan program tersebut secara teratur. Pelatihan ini terbukti efektif dalam mengembangkan keterampilan komunikasi dasar siswa sekaligus menumbuhkan kepercayaan diri dan ekspresi publik.
